women are more tolerant of overweight men

It's kind of obvious but researchers have proven that if you are an overweight woman you are going to have more trouble finding a steady relationship. The study which was done by looking at 12,000 Frenchmen and women between the ages of 18 to 69 and asking them about their sex lives concluded that obese women should get into shape if they wanted to get a boyfriend.

The study which also evaluated whether obese men had problems getting sex noted that the same was not true for them. Other things which the survey noted were that obese women were more likely by 4 times to have unplanned pregnancies and that overweight men had higher rates of impotence. Researchers said normal weight women were 30% more probable to have had a sexual partner over the last year when compared to obese women and that there was not a statistically significant difference in the case of obese man and normal weight men.

Ukmedix News has published other research that shows that obese female teenagers are at a much higher risk of sexually transmitted disease and pregnancy than normal weight female teenagers and this is linked to whole lot of self esteem and self perception problems which makes then take more risks.

According to Professor Kaye Wellings from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine who was one of the research authors it may be that women are more tolerant of overweight men compared to men being tolerant of overweight women.

Unfortunately there is a lot of negative stigma attached to being obese or overweight in the case of women. In the case of men while perceptions are changing with men increasingly being expected to be slim too it is still OK to have a little bit of excess around your belly.

This research which is published by the British Medical Journal should make overweight women sit up and think. It's a harsh man's world out there and if women want to get ahead they need to lose weight! Not only will they feel good about themselves but they will improve their health, live longer and have a better quality of life.
