Obesity Discrimination, You Can't Escape From It

Obesity discrimination is something that we have written about on many occasions at Ukmedix News and something which we know is extremely prevalent and which is one of worst things about having a weight problem.

Recently we reported on the survey done by low cost airline Ryanair which showed that more than half of all passengers believed that overweight individuals should pay extra to fly which was described by organisations sympathetic to obese individuals as being very discriminatory. In another shocking report from Australia it appears that the Transport Minister Ms. Rachel Nolan is investigating a case in which a taxi driver made an overweight woman passenger pay extra for a routine taxi ride.
At Ukmedix News we have also written extensively about how expensive obesity is not only to the taxpayer in the form of the National Health Service and medical treatment but also because it makes individuals less productive and less likely to get good employment. Many individuals who have a weight problem however are in denial about the serious financial and discriminatory aspects that come with it and as a result fail to deal with it. Sometimes they feel demoralised by the scale of the amount of weight they need to lose and the perceived difficulties of doing so and thus they take refuge in denying that there is a problem at all.
At Ukmedix News we obviously abhor any form of discrimination against overweight and obese people and sympathise with those who suffer from it. However our advice is that rather than just brooding on the problem and feeling sorry for yourself you should take affirmative action to help yourself get healthy and slim.
We also believe that one time obese individuals who have cured themselves of their condition should help other obese individuals around them. People who have achieved substantial weight loss are a great inspiration and a living proof that obesity can be beaten.
