Obesity Directly Increases Injury Rates

are almost 75 percent more probable to have a serious accident

Being obese puts you in considerable danger of suffering from all types of accidents and injury which could lead you to being hospitalised according to a new research project seen by Ukmedix News. The research which was conducted by the Samsung Life Insurance Lifecare Institute concluded that individuals suffering from obesity are almost 75 percent more probable to have a serious accident which will require them to go to hospital or to need surgical intervention.

Obesity Directly Increases Injury Rates

This is not the first study to look at the correlation between obesity and injury as Ukmedix News has seen other studies which show that obese individuals are often hospitalised for simply falling over or from over exerting themselves during routine daily tasks. Whereas a normal weight person who falls over will probably bounce straight back up again, obese people fall much harder and find it much more difficult to get up again. This is even more evident in obese elderly people.

It is bad enough that obese people have to contend with a whole range of obesity related illnesses but this new research shows that they put their lives in even more danger as they go around their daily lives simply by virtue of the extra weight they are carrying. Ukmedix News has even published research which shows that obese people are in greater danger of suffering severe injuries in car accidents and are more likely to die in routine surgical operations.

The quality of life that obese individuals have is so massively reduced compared to being a normal slim and healthy weight, and at Ukmedix News we reckon that by highlighting the negative implications of having a weight problem and the positive implications of losing weight we can encourage more people to do something about it. The first step to losing weight is admitting that you have a problem. Are you able to do that?
