Obesity Caused By Many Different Factors...

half hearted campaigns to curb obesity won’t have any effect...

Modern lifestyles play a significant part in the increasing weight of citizens in the United Kingdom. Many individuals like to point out one particular reason for the fact that children and adults are considerably heavier now than they were say 50 years ago but in fact there is a whole plethora of different reasons which contribute to the growing obesity problem in the UK.

Obesity Caused By Many Different Factors...

In fact it is no good singling out one single factor as the cause of the problem because dealing with it is unlikely to make a big difference. For example if advertising of fast food is prohibited in the United Kingdom it is unlikely to solve the whole problem however it could contribute to reducing the number of the overweight children provided that it is part of an overall initiative to get people healthy.

What the British government needs to do is to identify all the different factors that contribute to overweight and obese people in the United Kingdom and they need to deal with all of them at the same time in a concerted and practical way.

So this means that fast food advertising at children should be curbed, educational advertisements about the dangers of eating unhealthy should be aired when children are watching television.  Schools should be required to have lessons about healthy eating and healthy cooking. Restaurants should be made to advertise calorie counts on their menus. Sporting facilities, gyms and other things which get people moving and burning calories should be subsidised.

Free weight loss clinics should be set up in different parts of the United Kingdom and heavily advertised so that people can get advice on weight loss, exercise and even weight loss medication.

The British government should realise that half hearted campaigns to curb obesity in the United Kingdom won’t have any effect and they need to invest far more money sooner rather than later.  Anti obesity campaigns should be considered to be an investment in the nation which will bring healthy financial returns as the strain from obesity related disease is taken off the National Health Service and the productivity of the United Kingdom increases.

I completely agree with this article, there are many factors that have a lot of influence in the increase of obesity, not just in the United Kingdom but also around the world. To improve and overcome obesity problem is really important to get the support from schools, fast food chains, parents and even friends.
