Ukmedix has been reporting for the last year on the rise in the investments into obesity curers and remedies and in a new development reports are coming in that show that the Nastech Pharmaceutical Company is starting a study to look into the best dosage of a new anti-obesity nasal spray that it is producing. The research is just a preliminary study and only involves 12 patients who are all obese with BMI 's of between 30 and 40.
The study has also been designed to look at appetite and food consumption as well as the safety of different doses of the Nastech obesity nasal spray. Nastech hope to be able to determine the best and optimum dose that would be given to obese people so that the studies of the drug can be continued over a longer term and so that the efficiency and safety of the drug can be evalutaed in a FDA approved Phase II clinical trial. The drug is still in its early stages of testing and the budget for the testing is around 400,000 dollars which is small by drug manufacturers standards. The testing should be finished by the end of this year.
At present ukmedix can sell Reductil and Xenical to obese patients and these two drugs give good results to people who take their dieting seriously and who are prepared to do as the ukmedix doctors advise them to do. Both these drugs require that a balanced diet is taken alongside the medicine and as with all dieting a good amount of exercise helps too. Ukmedix doctors can help with dieting advice and a free online consultation can be given to people who are unsure about whether the drug is the right one for them.
