This study is without a doubt the most in depth study on the link...

Obesity has a funny way of affecting your health in many different ways.  Everyone knows that if you are overweight you are likely to be out of breath all the time and possibly have heart problems, but not many people know that obesity is directly linked to conditions like asthma.

Obesity And Asthma Link

A recent study that looked at the connection between obesity and asthma saw that obese people are 66 percent more probable to suffer from severe asthma symptoms than normal weight people. The research that was done at the Emory Crawford Long Hospital in America looked at close to 6,000 people with asthma. They also noted that you were almost 50 percent less probable to be experiencing asthma remission if you were obese and just over 50 percent more likely to suffer from severe and persistent asthma.

The researchers also looked at the number of sick days that obese asthmatics took and saw that they were 36 percent more likely take over two days off each year because of their asthma when compared to the normal weight asthma sufferers.

This study is without a doubt the most in depth study on the link between asthma and obesity and it shows that obesity significantly increases the severity of the problem. Researchers believe that the leptin hormone which is responsible for regulating body weight could somehow be linked to the high incidences of asthma.

People who are very overweight also have the problem of an added weight on their chests and sometimes experience difficulty in sleeping as a result. If you are overweight and suffering from asthma you have yet another reason to lose weight. You will not only be able to run faster but he will experience a far better quality of life. There really is no joy in being overweight and it really is worth losing weight even if it is a big struggle for you.
