Northern Ireland Has Sixty Four People Too Fat To Work

shouldn't be given state benefits to fund their lazy and inactive lifestyles
Following the news that a family in the United Kingdom are all claiming benefits because they are too obese to work it appears that 64 individuals in Northern Ireland are also sitting at home and being supported by the taxpayer because of their weight problems.

Northern Ireland Has Sixty Four People Too Fat To Work

Mr. Thomas Burns who forms part of the Assembly in Northern Ireland put it bluntly and said that they were “too fat to work” and said that it was alarming that there were so many people who were “grossly overweight”. He went on to say that while their main problem is that they are obese they have a whole list of related physical and psychological medical problems which occur as a result of their weight problem such as depression, diabetes and a lack of mobility. Mr. Burns said that he had sympathy for these obese individuals and said he felt sorry that they were not able to get proper gainful employment.

Many people feel very differently to Mr. Burns and argue that these overweight people are taking the taxpayer for a ride and that they should not be given state benefits to continue to fund their lazy and inactive lifestyles.

There is a big deal of stigma attached to being overweight and research has shown that people with weight problems are perceived to be lazy and stupid far more so than normal weight and good looking people. While we may not be conscious of it the majority of people place a lot of emphasis on appearance and thus judge accordingly. This is why overweight and obese individuals find it harder to find work than individuals of a normal weight.

At Ukmedix News we believe that you should not judge overweight individuals or for that matter anybody until you have given them time to prove themselves. Unfortunately however the majority of people don't think that way and write-off the overweight and obese before they have a chance to speak.

Obesity is a terrible condition to live with not just because of the physical aspects but also because of the constant direct and indirect psychological stress that it puts people under.

How can the government support such a unfair thing!! tax payers shouldn't be responsible for other people's problems especially when is an act of laziness and irresponsibility.... it is understandable if the person has a health condition, but when we are talking about lazy fatties it is ridicules!!!

Some of the benefit seekers will be just lazy bums but some will be genuine. Every case on its own merits...

Ron you should be legally corrected for calling people fatties.............. would you call a lame person lamie? Most people who are overweight because they have an imballace not because they choose to be. If you had to ask an obese person if they would like to wake up thin the next day you can be sure their answer will be 'yes'. Therefore you know nothing about it and in your case taxpayers could be paying for you to insult people! Learn more about a subject before you speak.
