fast food companies kept on saying that they were trying to reduce fat

Anti-obesity campaigners in New Zealand have slammed a new burger from KFC saying that it is extremely unhealthy with huge amounts of fat and calories. The new chicken burger called a 'Double Down' comes with no bun but has two slices of bacon and cheese sandwiched between 2 pieces of fried chicken. Fight the Obesity Epidemic spokesperson Ms. Robyn Toomath said it was a "recipe for obesity."

The exact amount of calories that this new Double Down burger has have not been released but in estimated that it will be double the original version which had over 500 calories as well as 32g of fat. In Australia, KFC is already in trouble for promoting a burger called The Double as the 'burger of choice for the men of Australia' therefore giving out the message that eating large quantities was macho and desirable for men.

Ms. Clare Hughes from the Cancer Council NSW was also pretty unimpressed saying that the fast food companies kept on saying that they were trying to reduce fat and use healthy ingredients but this recent promotion shows that that was "absolute nonsense". Fast food burgers and even their sides have huge amounts of calories and fat and anybody trying to lose weight should just stay well away from them. The huge amount of fat and salt which is present in the food also creates an unhealthy craving over time almost like an addiction.

A standard KFC burger has over 600 calories, 36g of fat and over 2 grams of salt. A Big Mac from McDonald's has almost 500 calories. If you start to add drinks and chips to these meals the calorie intake grows to well over 1,000 per meal which is simply enormous when you consider that for those people who do not exercise, a fully grown man should consume 2,000 calories a day maximum and a woman should be looking at around 1,800 daily. If you are trying to lose weight you should be reducing these figures.

Fast food will make you fat and unhealthy so avoid it at all costs!

I eat less than 1800 calories and still gain weight we need a fast food chain to produce complete meals for 500, 600, 700, 800, and 900 calories clearly marked and government approved. I am sure someone who starts this enterprise will make millions!
