Give it to them straight and tell them that they are fat this Christmas! That is the advice coming from The National Obesity Forum.

national obesity forum says tell them they are fat

According to Professor David Haslam who is the chairman of the National Obesity Forum telling somebody that they need to lose a bit of weight is not a very pleasant conversation to have and one which is much easier to avoid. However he said that by taking the steps to broach the subject you could be helping them to avoid serious health issues and even save their lives.

Some people would argue that Christmas is not the time to send out warnings about obesity related health risks because it is the time of festivity and rejoicing and by bringing up serious conversations you are risking killing the party. On the other hand Christmas is a time when overweight people overindulge in food and drink and use the festive atmosphere as an excuse to throw caution to the wind.

Unfortunately however overweight and obese people often kill the messenger when it comes to weight loss and dieting advice.  At Ukmedix News we would advise you to be extremely sensitive about talking about weight loss with anybody especially if you are not that close to them. Many Christmases have also been ruined by men telling their wives that they could lose a few pounds.

Probably the best time to have the weight loss conversation would be after Christmas and before the New Year. You should never be critical and always say that you are there to help and that you understand how difficult losing weight is. You must talk about the health, the social and the quality of life benefits of weight loss and present dieting as a way of improving their lives.

If you do not have this conversation with a loved one you may live to regret it one day!
