tracks the sad lives of overweight teenagers

At Ukmedix News we were recently shown a preview of a new MTV program called "I Used To Be Fat" which is coming out soon. The program is a reality show which tracks the sad lives of overweight teenagers and is a tearjerking and distressing documentary about how terrible it is to be very overweight. In the program the teenagers talk about the problems they face trying to go to school every day, the bullying and the lack of confidence they have to deal with.

The program also gets them to open up about why they turn to food for comfort and comes with eye opening revelations. For example Dominick who weighs almost 140 kilos talks about how his Italian mother confuses food with love, [a very common Mediterranean problem].

Another volunteer is Marci who doesn't go to school anymore because of the torment she endured previously and who has now lost most of her friends and uses fast food to make up for her loneliness. Of all of the volunteers Jordan probably highlights the psychological aspect to obesity the best in that he admits to dealing with his mother's alcoholism in the form of overeating.

The good news however is that this program organizes for them to be given a personal trainer to sort them out once and for all. The trainers not only sort out their eating and exercise habits but work on building their self confidence at the same time. The results are varied but most of them make significant changes and at least they have to all face up to the psychological and emotional barriers that prevent them from following a healthy life.

At Ukmedix News we have seen how following the progress of other people's weight loss attempts is extremely motivating for overweight individuals. The fact that other people can lose huge amount of weight inspires people into believing that they themselves can do it to.

We would recommend that anybody who is interested in losing weight makes a point to tune in to "I Used to be Fat" when it comes to the UK.

This is so sad, I would hate to be fat and what is more I would hate to be teased or tormented. I am sure I may have hurt someone in the past but I will make sure I don't do that now.
