M&S Launching Oversize School Uniforms

Childhood obesity is often described as a health time bomb

In an extremely worrying sign of the times, the UK retailer Marks & Spencer has announced the release of a range of plus size school uniforms to meet the increasing demand from parents with overweight children. Marks & Spencer which is the UK’s biggest retail supplier of school uniforms said that they had launched the school uniforms for overweight children between the ages of 3 to 6 because of demand from parents.

M&S Launching Oversize School Uniforms

It is estimated that around one in four pre-school children are now classified as overweight and the figures have only been increasing over the last few years. School uniforms for all children are now considerably larger on average than they were twenty years ago and a Marks & Spencer spokesman commented that all they were doing was making sure that the school uniforms they produced were comfortable for all children irrespective of their weight, size or shape.

The most worrying aspect of childhood obesity is not that the children are in immediate danger of health problems, but that they are likely to stay that way for the rest of their lives bringing along with it emotional, psychological and long term health implications. Childhood obesity is often described as a ‘health time bomb’, which to some extent has already detonated in some parts of the UK and practically all over America.

We have campaigned long and hard at Ukmedix News for more stringent controls over the fast food industry in the United Kingdom, advertising aimed at children and especially the nutritional quality of school food. Too little is being done too late and as a result a whole generation of children is being consigned to poorer quality of life, expensive health problems and countless other psychological issues.

If you have overweight children you must not ignore their weight problem because the chances are it won’t go away. You should do something sooner rather than later because the longer you leave it the more difficult it is to remedy it.

This article is correct, childhood obesity is NOT puppy fat!!! It is a very real problem and will cause heartache in the future to the children and the parents. Parents do something about it whilst you can! A three to five year old is in your complete control! It is totally up to you change their future unhappiness if you do nothing about it.
