More Green Tea Research, Results The Same...It Works

it is now pretty damn obvious that it works!

At Ukmedix News we sometimes wonder why people carry on doing research on green tea and its weight loss causing properties because so much has already been done and it is now pretty damn obvious that it works! However because such a huge obesity problem in the United States and in much of Europe there is no shortage of research investment in anything which can help fight weight gain.

more green tea research, results the same...it works

The most recent research project concerning green tea was done by a team of research scientists at Pennsylvania State University which concluded that when obese mice were given a compound which forms part of green tea they gained weight much more slowly than another group of obese mice who were not given the green tea compound. Professor Joshua Lambert said that this research suggested that green tea would slow down the weight gain which accompanied a high fat diet.

The compound which the researchers used for their research was Epigallocatechin-3-gallate or EGCG and it produced a 45% slower weight gain compared to the mice that were not given it. The researchers also said that the green tea compound resulted in almost 30 percent more fecal lipids which they said pointed to the fact that EGCG was reducing the amount of fat being absorbed into the body. Professor Lambert said that as well as EGCG reducing the body's ability to absorb fat it was also increasing its ability to use the fat therefore providing a double benefit.

Many people who drink green tea says that it suppresses their appetite but in this research project it appeared that both groups of mice were consuming the same amount of high-fat food. In one sense it doesn't really matter why green tea helps people to control their weight because we know it is safe and we know it is effective. The important thing is that it gets real results and that is why we thoroughly recommend you ditch coffee and switch to green tea. It might be a bit boring at first but it definitely is not more boring than putting on weight so you should give it a try.
