New warnings from the Food & Drug Administration in America concerning weight loss products show that it is getting more dangerous to use any weight loss drugs except those which are prescribed by doctor. The latest FDA report shows that weight loss medication which state that they are natural, traditional or herbal in fact contain powerful drugs in dosages which are dangerously high.

Dr Janet Woodcock who heads the Centre for Drug Evaluation & Research at the FDA said that these weight loss products were a “great risk to public health” because of their undeclared chemical ingredients.

Among other drugs found in these natural weight loss products were phenytoin which is an anti-seizure drug, phenolphthalein which is used as a solution for chemical experiments and is thought to be a cancer causing agent, and a diuretic called bumetanide. Other weight loss products also included rimonabant which hasn't been approved for sale in the United States after having been linked to a greater risk of depressive problems.

Think about this carefully before you use anything for weight loss which has not been given to you by a doctor. You may be putting your health in serious danger and at the end of the day you cannot be sure that what you are taking is legal, safe or effective unless it comes from the proper channels via doctors and licensed pharmacists.
