Milkshake Madness Causing Obesity

milkshakes have the capacity to add up to 2,000 calories to a meal

One of the biggest offenders of any fast food meal is the milkshake. If you must go for the odd burger and chips try to avoid having the milkshake too because this is likely to drastically increase your calorie intake. Even if they say it’s a fruity milkshake it also probably has a whole load of fat, loads of sugar and loads of calories. Have water instead!

Milkshake Madness Causing Obesity

A recent survey conducted by Men’s Health magazine shows that milkshakes have the capacity to add up to 2,000 calories [yes 2,000!] on top of a regular meal. That is more than the complete recommended daily calorie intake of a man and considerably more than a woman should consume and it’s all in one milkshake.

The Cold Stone PB&C milkshake [2,010 calories] that comes with generous amounts of chocolate ice cream, peanut butter and full fat milk contains a whopping 68gms of saturated fat as well as 153gms of sugar. In second place comes the Peanut Power Plus Grape made by Smoothie King containing just under 1,500 calories, [note the use of the word ‘Grape’ and the word ‘Smoothie’ to make you think that there’s something healthy about it!]

And in third place the world’s most popular restaurant McDonald’s is also guilty of providing a Triple Thick Chocolate Shake which contains a huge 1,160 calories.

Do you really need that milkshake? The best drink in the world is water because it contains absolutely no calories and it hydrates better than any other drink known to man. If you are going to go out for a burger and chips, [and at Ukmedix News we do recommend that you do this once in a while] make sure that you don’t overdo it. Stick to water, skip the desert and make sure that you walk back home!

If you really love milkshakes so much that you can’t live without them have them as a whole meal, go for the low fat versions with skimmed milk and most importantly use your common sense!

I CANNOT believe it!!! I have had as many as four milkshakes in a day!!! I then do not eat anything else and feel I have been really good!!! Everything we buy even in a cafe should have the calorie content on it!
