Men Becoming Body Obsessed

had surgery to reduce the size of their breasts

Most eating disorders and psychological issues with weight tend to be associated with women however doctors and weight loss specialists say that many men are becoming too concerned with their body image and are becoming too conscious of their weight and how they appear.

Men Becoming Body Obsessed

There are also reports that more men are using dangerous anabolic steroids in order to boost their muscle mass and attain physical perfection. These steroids which should only be given out on a prescription from a doctor have quite a few side effects which can be extremely dangerous. For example some men who use them report that their penis and testicles shrink and that they have problems getting erections. They are known also to cause bad skin, mood swings and breast growth.

The anabolic steroids which are either injected or administered orally should not be bought from anyone but a doctor and anyone who sells them illegally could end up in jail for as much as fourteen years. Nevertheless some men take big risks and buy them on the black market or from internet web sites in the hope that they will immediately begin to improve their physical shape. The British Crime Survey estimates that almost 180,000 people between the age of 16 and 59 have made use of anabolic steroids.

Another worrying development is that the number of men who have had surgery to reduce the size of their breasts has increased massively over the last few years. The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons say that the number of men going for this is procedure increased from just 22 operations in the year 2003 to 224 by 2007.

The media which portrays man as rippling hunks with perfectly sculpted bodies is partly to blame for this new unhealthy obsession that some men have with their bodies. Ukmedix News cannot recommend strongly enough that you stay well away from anabolic steroids and rely on traditional weight loss methods and exercise to lose weight and get a good physique.

Its a bit pathetic but the lack of exerfcise and sedentary lifestyle that proliferates in Western society needs to turn on its head.

Here in the US it is becoming more common place for men to accept they have to exercise and take some care.

That picture is extreme.

Guys like that look terrible!! It’s nothing attractive about a guy with a body so unreal. This entire obsession with the body image is obviously a result of the pressure that a lot of people experience from many sources as TV, models, etc. and is taking people’s lives.

Any extreme is bad!!!

a man exercising is one thing but an obsession is another. going to extremes at the gym and taking steroids is, quite frankly, wrong.
