Trying to get pregnant? Maybe you should be changing your diet? According to a new research project published by the medical journal Fertility and Sterility women who consume a Mediterranean diet were more likely to conceive than those who did not. The researchers said that the Mediterranean diet resulted in the best insulin and glucose balance for getting pregnant.

Obviously, there is more to getting pregnant than just eating well but the researchers said that an unhealthy insulin and glucose balance can impact negatively on ovulation which leads to fertility problems. We are a little bit biased about the Mediterranean diet at Ukmedix News but it is because everything we read about it seems to point to good health and longevity. It has even been recognized by UNESCO as world heritage!

A Mediterranean diet should consist of lots of fruits and vegetables, healthy olive oil, fish, lean meat, whole grains and a small amount of dairy products. The Mediterranean diet has a huge variety of different foodstuffs and is full of natural produce. Not only is it fun and easy to follow but it is likely that you will enjoy your food too. Stay away from coffee, high-sugar drinks and alcohol, except maybe a small glass of wine every now and again. Being relaxed and free of stress and anxiety is also known to help women conceive.

Italian people and other people living around Mediterranean are known to be among the happiest and stress free people in the world. It is true that they are also known to be disorganized, chaotic and emotional but they seem to enjoy life to the full and their diet is an important part of that. Surveys done on healthy living and longevity always show the Italian people coming on top despite the fact that they produce more pasta and pizza than anywhere else, which is often associated with obesity.

Try the Mediterranean diet for a couple of weeks and live La Bella Vita and who knows maybe you will get pregnant!

Make sure you let us know if you do!

It's true, I live in the mediterranean and have four children whom I love very much plus living here makes us a happy family thank God! I would not change it for anything.
