so that they look right for the part

Leonardo DiCaprio the Hollywood actor is having to undergo a brutal weight loss and exercise routine in order to get himself super slim for a particular scene in his new film ‘Inception’. The film which is directed by Christopher Nolan and which also stars Ellen Page has a scene in it in which Leonardo has to appear emaciated.

Actors and actresses often have to put themselves through these weight loss or weight gain trials so that they look right for the part. In many cases the change in weight is sudden and is in fact not good for them at all, but they justify it because they say they want to play the role in the best way that they can and also because they are being paid millions of dollars to do so.

Renee Zellweger is one actress who had to put on weight for her role in Brigit Jones’s Diaries and who quickly lost it again in time for the premiere of the film. She reportedly enjoyed putting on the weight because all of the lovely food she was able to eat. Another actress who had to lose weight for role was Beyonce who had to play a teenage version of her character in the film Dreamgirls.

One of the most drastic body changes of all was probably the one of the beautiful Hilary Swank who had to go on an intense muscle building workout before filming for 'Million Dollar Baby'. She played her role so well that she ended up winning an Oscar and many people commented on her impressive toned physique.

Actually when weight loss is for a specific purpose and for a specific time it tends to be easier.  Women for example always tend to lose weight for their wedding day and when they go on holiday but often put it back on again.  Healthy weight loss should be a complete and permanent lifestyle change rather than a short term goal.

This is pure chatter, and purer idiocy. Leave the starvation diets to Christian Bale. Not only is it extraordinarily unhealthy, but Mr. DiCaprio would be starving himself not for the sake of "art" but for what is essentially a mashup of "The Matrix" and "Minority Report." Get a grip, Team Anorexia!
