in some African countries obese women are observed as an object of desire

It seems that overweight women are having more fun! A new study undertaken by the University of Hawaii, School of Medicine reports that women who are overweight are having significantly more sex than women who are normal weight. Over 7,000 women were questioned for this study and the results showed that 92 percent of the women who were overweight had had sex with a man compared to only 87 percent for normal weight women.

Previous research has suggested that being overweight reduces the level of sexual desire and that women of a normal weight women were more sexually active however this new research from Hawaii refutes those findings.

Using a Body Mass Index figure of 25 as the marker for being between normal weight and being overweight, the sexual histories of thousands of American women between the ages of 55 and 44 were examined. The researchers factored in such things as race, age and frequency of sex however the only thing which appeared to have an affect on the probability of a woman having had sex with a man was body size.

The lead researcher Dr Bliss Kaneshiro noted that the results were not expected and they have not come up with a conclusive theory as to why these results were produced. The full research is published in the medical journal Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

On another note, other research seen by Ukmedix News shows that obese women are less fertile than normal weight women nevertheless there have been no research projects which link sexual desire to fertility.

African American men are known to prefer women who are slightly more overweight than Caucasian Americans, and in some African countries obese women are observed as an object of desire which is opposite to the case in most European countries. In Hawaii where this research was conducted overweight women are again considered to be very attractive by most men.
