What is it about a celebrity that makes them endorse weight loss medication? OK, so everybody likes to earn a little bit of money but when it comes to the endorsement of potentially dangerous untested weight loss medication surely they should use a little bit of common sense!

Recently for example the reality television star Kim Kardashian has been allowing her face and image to be used to promote a product called QuickTrim which claims to be a powerful weight loss supplement. According to Professor Adriane Fugh-Berman from the Georgetown University Medical Center these types of weight loss supplements contain stimulants, diuretics and laxatives which can cause stomach cramps and even possibly more serious kidney medical problems.
In fact Professor Fugh-Berman actually conducted a clinical review on three of the most popular QuickTrim products and found to contain large amounts of caffeine, diuretics and laxatives which she said would only cause temporary weight loss due to water loss. She also warned that there was so much caffeine in these tablets that your blood pressure could increase to dangerous levels and you could even suffer from heart arrhythmias. She said that taking these tablets along with a strong coffee could be doubly dangerous.
According to the American Dietetic Association you should be extremely wary of dietary supplements like QuickTrim because they have not been put through proper scrutiny by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and this means that the ingredients have not been proven to be effective.
At Ukmedix News we feel that Kim Kardashian should be a little bit more discerning about what she promotes. OK, so they may have offered her a whole lot of money but it is not like she is hard up and short of cash is it?
What she should have done is just promoted the idea of healthy living, sensible diet, exercise and common sense which has worked for her before.
