Kevin Smith Humiliated After Being Kicked Off Plane For Being Too Fat

Hollywood movie director Kevin Smith is furious! His anger stems from being booted off a Southwest Airlines plane after being told that couldn't fit in a regular seat because he was too fat. Kevin Smith who is promoting his latest movie starring Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan said that the media outcry over the airline incident had been terrible at times and that all they could talk about was the fact that he was overweight.

Even though he tried to make light of the incident there is no doubt that he was deeply offended. He said that if he’d had a low self-esteem he would have been “crushed” and that he might have put the gun in his mouth! He went on ranting about how he wasn’t kidding and called the producers of the TV program Entertainment Tonight “f***ing pricks”. He was so humiliated by them even getting a doctor on the programs to guess how much he weighed and said they turned the incident into a “f***ing carnival”.
Kevin Smith is still standing by the fact that he was not too fat to fly on Southwest Airlines but just that some person working for the airline didn’t like him and decided to pick on him. He said they won’t tell him who made the decision to boot him off the flight and said that there was “nobody in charge”.
Overweight and obese people are often hypersensitive about their weight and find it hard to admit even to themselves that they have a chronic weight problem. The fact is that Kevin Smith is unhealthily overweight and that while he may have got away with flying on regular airlines in the recent past it looks like his weight has finally caught up with him and he will either have to upgrade to business in the future or lose weight if he wants to make sure that he can always get a seat.
Southwest Airlines have issued two separate apologies to Kevin Smith but as far as he’s concerned he was “f***ked over” by the airline and he wants nothing more to do with them. This incident has again brought the spotlight on the problem of obese people flying on regular airlines which is only getting worse as developed nations battle with increasing obesity problems.

I'm a frequent flyer, I'm average in height and weight. I have no problem flying coach. I can see why he would have had a problem on a full flight in a regular seat. When flying stand-by you get the last seat. Usually a middle seat in the back. Since he is a "Hollywood Director" he should have no problem booking a first class seat on an airline that offers them for domestic travel.

Actually if you did your research you would find from many other statements that Kevin Smith always buys two seats when he flights. He just happened to be on standby for an earlier flight on this particular day, for which only one seat was available.

OK Jen you have a point but the fact is that he couldn't fit in one seat and that is why he was kicked off the plane. He got on the plane knowing that there was only one seat available. I feel sorry for the guy but he needs to lose weight, and he can't go about ranting about airlines. What about the poor person who would have had to sit next to him eh?

Something needs to be done about this, perhaps the seats are generally too small, and many more people are considered overweight for that seat, or is it a way of selling all their first class seats?.... it does not sound good.
