Kate Moss has sparked media uproar after making the quip that "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels". Is she guilty of encouraging young girls to become anorexics or is she merely making an astute judgment about whether we really need to eat that extra food item?

In the Ukmedix Newsroom there were differing thoughts but overall we seem to think that her comment has been taken completely out of context. It is essential that overweight people realise that one of the best things about losing weight and maintaining it is the warm glow of satisfaction and health that you feel. Anybody who has had a weight problem and who has lost weight will tell you that the sensation of standing on the scales and knowing that you have met your targets beats the hell out of the feeling that any food gives you.
In fact Kate Moss also said about this motto “You try and remember, but it never works" showing that she has a light hearted attitude to weight and that even she has to keep an eye on her figure.
The UK model Katie Green, founder of the ‘Say No To Size Zero’ initiative believes that Kate Moss’s comment will actually encourage more people to develop eating disorders. Apparently there are similar comments on web sites which promote anorexia and which push people to follow extreme diets.
At Ukmedix News we have previously given Kate Moss a hard time because of her smoking habit but we feel that in this case the media is being unfair. In fact remembering how terrible you feel when you put on weight and how great you feel when you lose it should and can be the biggest motivation for reducing your portion sizes, getting exercise and generally living a good and healthy life.
It is a bit farfetched to blame Kate Moss for making this comment when after all they were only asking her about how she keeps herself in shape.

I agree that it is a silly remark, however I feel she is being given a hard time. Maybe they should ban certain advertisments that show realy skinny models and use only normal looking people.

I agree with kates cmment, I take a healthy approach to food, I don't want to be fat and am a size 10, nothing feels as good as fitting into your jeans, nothing feels as bad as not getting them on, so why not take the sensible approach and say no to big portions and bad food! Good on you kate!
