Jamie Oliver On A Crusade

Jamie Oliver is not giving up in his attempt to get people to learn to cook and more importantly to eat healthily. As he soon takes America by storm in a new program for the television network ABC he talks about how his campaign against the chronic obesity problem in both the UK and the US has become a personal crusade for him.

His latest TV offering called ‘Jamie Oliver’s Revolution’ takes place in one of America’s most obese cities in West Virginia and has him cooking with a whole range of people in different settings such as churches, schools and hospitals. He talks about the importance of fresh vegetables and puts across his trademark cooking keeping everything simple and easy to follow. He hopes that the program will really help and motivate American people to stop eating processed convenience food and go back to cooking proper healthy meals.
What everybody loves about Jamie is that he is very passionate about what he does and this enthusiasm is infectious. He was largely responsible for getting the British government to improve school food right across the UK as well as getting funding for special kitchens to be set up so that children could learn the basics of cooking at school.
His UK ‘Ministry of Food’ has had a big effect on the eating habits of the people of Rotherham and it has now been taken over by the Local Council which continues to dispense good nutritional advice and practical cooking classes. In fact fourteen other UK Local Councils also want to setup cooking centres to improve the health of the local people. Food education is so important! Individuals who understand nutrition and how to cook healthy food are much less likely to be obese. Probably the best example of this is the Italian people who despite being famous for their love of food are still the slimmest people in Europe.
At Ukmedix News if we had to mention three things which we felt would go a long way in beating the obesity epidemic in both the UK and the United States they would be Education Education Education, and we feel that Jamie Oliver would probably agree with us.
