A lot of research has been published which shows that people who come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds are more likely to be overweight. It is often said that one of the reasons for this is because eating healthy is more expensive and therefore people with less money to find it more difficult to make ends meet if they buy healthy food.

Actually at Ukmedix News we reckon that this is a load of rubbish, and it is just yet another pretty feeble excuse that people who do not want to lose weight come up with in order to allow themselves to maintain their unhealthy eating habits.
It is true that some fruit and vegetables are expensive, for example mangoes and other exotic offerings, but simple things like potatoes, tomatoes, apples and oranges do not cost the earth and are extremely nutritional and filling.
Eating healthy does require more effort because obviously getting a Big Mac or ordering a pizza delivery is less time consuming but trying to argue that is cheaper in the long term to eat fast food is a flawed argument.
The real cost of eating fast food is not in the price that you see on the advertisements for it but in the fact that it will cause you to become overweight or obese and this will result in you becoming lethargic, less active and generally less productive. You will also be likely to face higher premiums from your health insurance, have more illness and generally pay a quality of life cost which is difficult to quantify.
Every time you eat healthily on the other hand and you lose weight, you increase the chances of gainful employment, a positive outlook on life and a whole range of other psychological and physical benefits.
If you are using the argument that you cannot eat healthily because it is too expensive you are just not facing facts and not being honest with yourself and your situation.
