A healthy diet is important not just because it keeps you in shape and stops you putting on weight but also because it keeps you free from illness. People who eat healthily and who are of a normal weight tend to have stronger immune systems than overweight individuals. If you eat a diet full of fruit and vegetables the chances of suffering from influenza are significantly reduced. Other simple tips like getting good sleep, reducing the amount of stress in your life and getting regular exercise have all been shown to boost your immune system and thus keep you free from disease.

When you are eating do not just think of your diet as a means of stopping you putting on weight but think about how you can eat to make your immune system strong. In the same way when you are working out in the gym you are not just boosting your muscles but you are also giving your whole immune system a workout too.
Healthy living is a virtuous circle and in the same way unhealthy living is a vicious circle which you should break out of. An old saying which has a lot of truth to it is “An apple a day keeps a doctor away” and you should make a conscious effort to include a number of different fruits and vegetables in your diet on a daily basis.
At Ukmedix News we have always argued that the simple diet tips are always the best. Getting good sleep can make the difference between weight gain and weight loss and numerous studies can confirm this. If you’re not getting regular sleep you’ll find it much more difficult to eat healthily and get regular exercise. Maybe the first step of your weight loss plan should be to be in bed every day during the week by 10:00 PM?
