If You Like Pizza, Eat Pizza

Don’t demonise pizza, pasta, burgers, chocolate, desserts and sweets

Many people start off their diets with resolve and determination to stay on track and to lose weight. What happens with time however is that they get bored of eating very healthy food the whole time and start to crave their favourite foods which they have crossed off the list of food which they are allowed to eat.

If You Like Pizza, Eat Pizza

The longer that you don’t eat your favourite food the stronger the cravings become until in a weak moment you go out and overindulge. Feelings of guilt kick in immediately after and you start to get demoralised about your eating habits.

At Ukmedix News we think this is a bad attitude. If you like pizza, eat pizza and if you like ice cream, eat ice cream but make sure that you don’t eat it every day. By denying yourself completely from your favourite foods you set yourself up for failure.  Research has shown that people who completely denied themselves any treats when on a diet were more likely to fail than those who had the occasional treat every now and again.

At Ukmedix News we don’t believe that there is any food which you are never allowed to eat but you should be realistic and honest with yourself about your calorie intake. There is nothing wrong with having a pizza at lunch provided that you compensate for it in the evening by eating light and possibly getting some exercise too. At the end of the day if you keep your calorie count down to below recommended levels you won’t put on weight and even if you do go a little bit over on one day you can always compensate the next day by sticking to salads and small portions.

So don’t demonise pizza, pasta, burgers, chocolate, desserts, sweets and all the good things in life but just consume them in moderation. After all life’s great food pleasures are there to be enjoyed!!
