When losing weight one of the biggest challenges that you face is dealing with your hunger pangs. Some dieters make the mistake of setting themselves unrealistic eating targets which means that they live with hunger throughout the day. If you stay hungry all day you will associate healthy eating with deprivation and denial and this will undermine the motivation to continue to losing weight.

There are some foods which you can have as snacks which don’t contain too many calories and which will make you feel full up. For example eating a handful of nuts every now and again will keep hunger pangs away. It is important that you eat things which will control your blood sugar levels and keep them at a constant and consistent level.
Eating foods which are high in sugar will result in a blood sugar level high followed by a blood sugar low which will make you hungry again. Nuts are slow energy burners and therefore will keep your blood sugar level constant.
Another thing which keeps away hunger pangs is green tea. Not only does it work as an appetite suppressant but has been seen to slightly increase metabolism which could have a small effect on your weight over the long term.
Other people we have spoken to at Ukmedix News say that chewing gum keeps their mind off food however others say that it activates their digestive juices which actually increases their hunger. You should try different things and find something that works for you. Preventing hunger for you might be something as simple as drinking a lot of water.
Low fat milkshakes with skimmed milk are also used by many people trying to control their weight as a way of preventing hunger during the day. If you are exercising and using weights you can get special protein shakes which boost your protein intake and thus help you to grow muscle.
Not all diet advice works for everybody so experimentation is needed.
