FunPie said that thin people need not apply

There was a big uproar recently when a dating website announced that they would not allow overweight or obese individuals to sign up as members stating that they only wanted beautiful people who looked after their bodies to join.

Well, in what can be termed as 'the revenge of the fatties' another dating web site is discriminating against thin people and has a policy which says that you have to be 'larger than life' to sign up. The website which is called FunPie is hoping to tap into the huge market of overweight men and women in the UK and allow them to participate in the dating game without feeling awkward or ostracized by their weight. Describing themselves as an online dating agency for those with 'natural curves' FunPie said that thin people 'need not apply'.

This website will also be of interest to men who are self-confessed Fat Admirers. Fat Admirers are the small minority of men who find overweight women extremely sexy and much more so than normal weight women, and there will no doubt be plenty of attempts from these men to sign up to FunPie. They will probably have to either put on a lot of weight or pretend that they are overweight in order to circumvent the 'no thin people' policy!

On a more serious note however this new website highlights the growing number of obese and overweight people in the United Kingdom and shows a definite trend toward the normalization of obesity in the same way that has already been seen in parts of America.

Critics of this website say that it will encourage men and women to learn to live with being overweight rather than try and do something about it. Being able to meet people and date is often the most important reason why men and women make an effort to lose weight, but this website is allowing them to do that and keep on piling on the pounds.

Is this a good thing?

Both are wrong, there should not be any discrimination either way.
