Full body scans at airports security are another reason why you might try to look your best when you go on holiday. It is true that you'll probably be wearing a bikini on the beach however the new security measures at many international airports mean that somebody you don't know might see you without your clothes on, so you better shape up soon!

Well, not really but it is interesting to see that the people who are making the most amount of fuss about these new body scans are the ones who are overweight or obese. Most normal weight men and women couldn't give a damn if some bored airport security official saw an outline of their shape on a grainy TV screen, but people with weight problems are extremely sensitive about being seen naked and thus they have a big issue with it.
The images which these full body scans produce are not photographs as many overreacting members of the public like to think but are just thermal images in black and white which merely give an outline of your shape and obviously highlight if you are hiding anything potentially dangerous in your clothes.
Like many new ideas there is a lot of opposition at first until it becomes normal and accepted. In a decade's time it is likely that full body scanning will be not only at airports but also in banks, museums and hundreds of other public buildings and nobody will bat an eyelid.
Anyway, if you really don't want anyone to see a blurred black and white outline of yourself naked you can always opt to have a hand search. Personally I would rather somebody took a photograph of me naked then have some person I don't know running his hand up and down my inner thigh!
