Starving your body when working out can actually be detrimental

There are those people who make the mistake of believing that if they go to the gym on an empty stomach their body will burn fat more so than if they have eaten in which case the body will be burning food supplies. It seems perfectly logical that your body will turn to burning fat but in fact if you don’t have food calories to burn when working out you will not be doing yourself any favours.

Food Fuel Needed For Healthy Workout

If you want to get the best out of your workout and be able to push yourself to the limit you need to eat something before. Your muscles as well as your brain will not be able to function to full potential if you work out on an empty stomach and you could end up feeling light headed and dizzy in the gym and possibly hurt yourself.

If you exercise first thing in the morning make sure that you eat something before your workout. It might only be a banana or some other fruit but it will just give you that edge to keep going to your maximum potential. You don’t have to consume a huge breakfast before working out but you should eat something and preferably something again soon after your workout.

Starving your body when working out can actually be detrimental over the long term to your weight loss efforts and lead you to becoming over tired and drawn. Healthy weight loss should always make you look good as well as lose body fat.

If you are one of those people who gets to the gym and finds that you have absolutely no energy to work out it could be that you haven’t eaten properly before getting there.  Take a good look at your diet and speak to professional trainers in the gym who should be able to advise you when and how much to eat before and after your workout.
