Fenfluramine is a notorious chemical used by desperate people

A new warning to reach the newsroom of Ukmedix regards a slimming product called Xin Kang San. This product is advertised as being harmless when in fact it contains a number of powerful prescription medications as well as a banned and potentially lethal chemical. The warning which comes from the Dept. of Health in Hong Kong makes clear that anybody who has used this medication should stop using it and get a checkup from their doctor immediately.

Fenfluramine Found In Weight Loss Product

The medical authorities in Hong Kong decided to clinically test the slimming product Xin Kang San after number of complaints were received by people who had used it. The results showed that as well as containing a large amount of the prescription medication sibutramine which is a very effective appetite suppressant (and which can be sold legally with a prescription as Reductil,) it also contained a compound called fenfluramine.

Fenfluramine is a notorious chemical used by desperate people to lose weight and is extremely dangerous. It was been banned after clinical studies showed that it could damage the valves of the heart. Fenfluramine has been known to have caused many deaths around the globe and should not be used in any circumstances. This case highlights the dangers of using weight loss medication of any type even if it claims to be natural, traditional or herbal. Ukmedix News has seen hundreds of cases of illegal weight loss medication being sold to unsuspecting customers who have then gone on to become seriously ill. In some instances the use of so called herbal weight loss medication has resulted in death.

There are some weight loss medications which have been clinically tested and have been shown to work effectively such as Reductil, Acomplia and Xenical. All of them are prescription medications and should only be taken after consultation with a doctor. Using off the shelf weight loss medication is not only dangerous but has also shown to be less effective in helping people to shed fat.
