A new study seen by Ukmedix News suggests that overweight people and especially obese women who have sex are less satisfied with the results when compared to normal weight individuals.

The study which was done by Duke University researchers involved detailed sexual questionnaires being filled in by 91 men and 134 women. The questionnaire included information about sexual arousal, sex drive, orgasms and relationships and all of the volunteers were classified as obese but not so overweight that they were unable to actually have sex.
Professor Truls Ostbye from Duke University said that the results showed a lower sexual satisfaction in obese women when compared to obese men and that overall the sexual quality of life for all obese people was poor. Professor Ostbye said that his study which was printed by the Journal of Sex and Marital Therapy did not show why obese people had poorer quality sex and said that doctors should discuss with them the sexual issues that obese people have.
In fact it is pretty obvious why obese people have poor quality sex. Mobility problems, fat getting in the way, a poorer quality of erectile function in men and even fitness issues all lead to less pleasurable sex.
There is even the confidence issue which has a big impact on enjoying sex. Women who feel good about their shape and who are comfortable naked will be far more relaxed in the bedroom than women who are constantly thinking about their weight. How can a woman orgasm if she's feeling self conscious?
To a lesser extent men feel the same especially if they are with attractive slim women. Men who feel confident in the bedroom will also find themselves with better erectile function then those who are constantly trying to hold their stomachs in.
Feeling good about yourself and feeling confident about your appearance can affect not only your sex life but even the way you interact with other people on a daily basis. Losing weight should not just be considered as a health issue but also as a means of boosting your confidence and living your life to the full.
