less self conscious and out of place in these places then in normal clubs

Special night clubs which are designed to cater for overweight and obese revelers are growing in popularity in America and could soon be a regular and normal thing to see in big cities. In California for example two clubs called The Butterfly Lounge and Club Bounce respectively have been doing brisk business with thousands of visitors who say that they feel less self conscious and out of place in these establishments then in normal clubs.

Fat Nightclubs Are Becoming More Popular

In fact Club Bounce has been doing business for over five years and does not just cater for overweight people but also for those men called Fat Admirers who particularly like overweight women. Ms. Lisa Marie Garbo who started the club said that it enabled overweight people to relax and enjoy themselves without the feeling that they were the odd one out in the crowd.

There are many people however who think that these clubs promote the idea that it is normal to be overweight or obese and that this could prevent people from getting help to shed the pounds. They argue that obesity comes with a big risk of many diseases such as cancer and heart disease and that the cultural normalisation of the condition will only lead to further increases in the number of obese individuals.

There’s no question about the fact that social networks and who you hang out with will influence your weight. At Ukmedix News we have published research about how having an overweight friend could influence you to become overweight too and that having very health conscious friends is likely to have a positive effect on your desire to eat healthily too.

You may find that by going to these special overweight nightclubs that you have more fun but it could end up having a detrimental effect on your health as you throw away your healthy eating plans and just learn to live with being overweight.
