Think about how you can harness peer pressure for your benefit

A new bathroom scale which comes fitted with a wireless internet connection which immediately sends your weight to a website has been designed to make sure that you do not put on weight. The concept is simple because it is known that people are more likely to take care not to put on weight if they are subjected to a little bit of peer pressure.

Facebook, Peer Pressure And Other Weight Loss Tools

The bathroom scale called BodyTrace e-Scale is really more of a gimmick than anything else but try and picture that every time you put on a pound or two in weight this information was immediately sent to all of your friends. For example when you put on weight it would update your Facebook status with how much weight you had put on and your new weight. It sounds outlandish but the chances are that if you had this scrutiny from your friends and family every time you put on weight you’d probably be extra careful about eating that extra plate of food and also probably make more of an effort in the gym.

Obviously everybody likes their privacy and nobody likes to discuss their weight with strangers but this issue does highlight the power of peer pressure and you should try and harness it for your own benefit. Hanging out with people who are slim and trying to avoid your overweight friends has shown to help. It’s much more difficult to stick to a salad if everybody else is gorging on burgers and much easier to go to a gym if you have a friend to go with.

Think about how you can harness peer pressure for your benefit. One good tip is to work out at a gym where the people are very slim and fit because it will set a higher standard for you. You could also book a beach holiday where you know everybody is extremely body conscious. Put the pressure on yourself to succeed with your weight loss effort because the evidence shows that it really does work!

What a stupid idea! as if anyone wants their friends to know their weight and how much they gain. These scales are a loss, nobody will buy them. Sorry product owners you are going to lose pounds!
