I know we've been talking about this before at Ukmedix News but… are you having breakfast?! If you are skipping breakfast you might think you are being virtuous but the chances are you are in fact eating much unhealthier throughout the day and you are more likely to be overweight or obese.

New studies continue to show that people who starve themselves in the morning set themselves up to eating unhealthy fast food throughout the day. If you make it a point to have wholegrain fibre every morning you will do your heart and your general health a big favour as well as reduce the risk of suffering from diabetes. Not only this but you will maintain steady blood sugar levels which will help you to work and think better.
The other thing which we want to harp on about in this article is getting good sleep! Have you ever noticed that when you don’t get a good night’s sleep it is more difficult to eat healthy cereals in the morning? After a big night out everyone craves a full English breakfast fry up as opposed to healthy cereals or fruit and provided that you don’t have the fry up every day it shouldn’t really do you much harm, (but try to stick to the healthy stuff.)
If you’re serious about losing weight why not just make a commitment to get to bed early and have a healthy breakfast in the morning. You might find that these two simple things could revolutionise your eating habits for the rest of the day and give you sustainable and practical weight loss in the long term. Sometimes the difference between weight loss and weight gain really can come down to simple but consistent lifestyle habits. You’ll find that good sleep also makes you feel better about yourself which in turn will motivate you to eat healthily.
If you are overweight or obese you really have nothing to lose by trying these two simple things. So go on what are you waiting for? Go to bed early tonight and eat a healthy cereal based breakfast tomorrow morning. Stick to it for a week and then get on the scales and tell us all about it below….
