confusing, rigid and ineffective

It all sounds so amazing and wonderful. A beautiful young girl getting married to Prince William wanted to look perfect on her wedding day and so she followed the diet advice of her mother to lose a few pounds! Carole Middleton mother in law to royalty obviously knew what she was talking about when she advised her daughter to go on the Dukan diet but according to the British Dietetic Association she was talking a whole lot of rubbish!

In fact the BDA described the Dukan diet as being utterly ineffective and with no scientific basis.  Not only that but they also said that it was confusing, rigid and ineffective and even nominated it as the worst weight loss plan!  How about that for a slap down for what was considered to be the coolest and most credible diet on the planet last summer!

Now we don't mean to preach Ukmedix News but we could have told you that the Dukan diet was a waste of time if you had asked us without doing any scientific analysis. It is pretty obvious that a diet which tells you to only consume protein for a whole week is dangerously unhealthy and should be avoided. Yes, you might lose some weight in the short term but in the long term [and that is the more important aspect of weight loss] you are just going to fat again!!

The diet which was formulated by Dr Dukan comes with a whole lot of self stated side effects such as constipation, bad breath and low energy levels. You really do not need to suffer from constipation in order to lose weight and if you are you are obviously eating unhealthily.

When will people get it into their head that in order to lose weight and to lose weight to in the long term you need to eat a balanced diet? Let us say that again for those of you out there who don't seem to get it... FOR LONG TERM WEIGHT LOSS YOU NEED TO EAT A BALANCED DIET!!!

This diet is popular in Australia, and it has a good reputation as effective and not unhealthy, you only eat protein for 4 to 7 days according to the amount of weight you want to lose, after that you are eating green vegetables as well.

I would rather not follow that diet if I ended up looking like Kate Middleton she is a bag of bones!
