Dr. Armando Scharovsky approaches the problem of obesity from a different angle to most doctors. Instead of just advising about diet and nutrition he believes that the best method of encouraging weight loss is through self-hypnosis. Dr. Scharovsky’s weight loss therapy involves patients inserting what he calls the “Virtual Gastric Band”. He says that men and women do not really need to actually go for gastric banding surgery but should regulate their minds through self-hypnosis to insert their own Virtual Gastric Band.

A lot of weight problems have deep psychological roots and Dr. Scharovsky says that with this therapy men and women can attempt to control their fears and deal with possible childhood traumas which can liberate them from unhealthy overeating behaviour. Dr. Scharovsky had two very obese parents who he saw suffering with various diets and fluctuating weight in his childhood. He claims to know all about the “suffering and discrimination” which obese people face in their daily existence and how much they really want to shed weight.
If you have an ongoing weight problem you should possibly consider getting psychological help and even a little bit of self analysis could help you. Maybe you should be questioning yourself why you are eating too much and maybe you'll be able to link it to some mental trauma or insecurity that you face. Dr. Scharovsky organises special workshops in which he gets participants to psychologically place their Virtual Gastric Bands inside their stomach and make a commitment to eating healthily in the future.
Some people find that they can easily shed weight by following healthy eating tips and getting more exercise but for other people their weight problem is tied up with a whole lot of other insecurities and problems which need to be dealt with first before weight loss can be seriously tackled.
