keep it simple and healthy and live life to the full!

How many times have you heard the expression, “a diet that really works!” It seems that there are hundreds of diets out there that don’t work and that there is always some sort of secret diet which has some sort of super power to make you lose weight. Well, the truth is that the majority of diets do work but the problem is that people have difficulty sticking to them. If you were to follow the eating recommendations of most diets to the letter you would lose weight, the problem is you would probably hate it, it would be unsustainable and with many of these fad diets it could be downright unhealthy.

Diets That Work

What people really mean when they talk about a diet that “really works” is a diet that they can follow and that they actually can live with. A diet that doesn’t work for most people is one that they just can’t hack. There really are no secrets to healthy weight loss as many so-called diet specialists like to make out. If you can limit your calorie intake to recommended levels you will lose weight and it really is as simple as that. What people are always looking for is a way that they can eat more than the recommended amount without putting on weight!

If you come across a diet which is complicated, promises massive weight gain in a short period or requires you to eat an unbalanced diet you should put it into the category of ‘diets that don’t work’. Research has shown time and time again that the diets that do work are the simple ones, the ones which have a long term weight loss maintenance program and ones which allow you to eat healthily with a little bit of all the different food groups.

Life is too short to waste your time with stupid fad diets so get real, keep it simple and healthy and live life to the full!
