separate the truth from the fiction

Watch out for dangerous diet facts! There is no shortage of people talking complete and utter rubbish about weight loss and diet so you need to be on watch to separate the truth from the fiction.

diet feel good facts can be dangerous

Be careful of feel good facts, which are those bits of information that you really would love to be true. Stuff like that black chocolate is good for you and can reduce inflammation. Yes there is a little bit of truth in the health benefits of black chocolate but if you consume a lot of it you'll just end up overweight!

Another bit of information which you can see in weight loss and exercise writings is that having an extra pound of muscle can melt as much as 50 calories a day.  This makes people think that because their biceps are slightly bigger they are now able to eat much much more.

Diet books love to claim that by eating specific foods over a period of time you can completely change your metabolism, or if you eat at exact times of the day you will burn less or more calories but most of this is utter rubbish. Sometimes there's a tiny bit of truth in some of these feel good diet statements but the benefit is so minuscule that they are not worth considering.

If for example eating before sundown means that you burn two percent more calories is it really worth bothering about? You'll probably end up eating more calories before sundown because you are thinking that you are being diet conscious then you would if you just ate normally.

Conquering your deep rooted misconceptions is often the biggest battle in weight loss. People hold onto their ideas almost religiously, not wanting to admit that they are just going to have to stop eating some of the things they love, or at least consume them in moderation.

What are your diet mental blocks? Admitting them to yourself and facing them could get you slim for the rest of your life.
