modify your diet so that you are able to eat the occasional treat

Had you ever experienced that feeling of massive craving for certain types of food after a few days of dieting? This craving is in fact perfectly normal and according to various studies which we have examined at Ukmedix News it is in fact a healthy craving. What happens is that when your body is deprived of certain essential nutrients it sends signals to your brain and stomach which activate the feeling of craving. People for example who deprive themselves of carbohydrates in their diet often find that they begin to crave them far more than they usually do.

Restrictive Diets Could Make You Binge Eat

People for example who like to eat pizza, spaghetti, ice cream or chocolate are often told by their nutritionists or doctors that they must completely cut out these types of food from their diet. At Ukmedix News we are aware that obviously too much of these foodstuffs are unhealthy and will cause you to put on weight however by completely casting them out of your diet you risk aggravating cravings for these foods to a point where it becomes extremely hard for you not to eat them.

What we would advise if you are the sort of person who tends to diet and then binge eat afterwards is to modify your diet so that you are able to eat the occasional treat. You must be disciplined about when you have a treat and the treat should be in a very small amount but nevertheless it should be included as part of your diet plan.  You could for example to allow yourself to have a plate of pasta and some ice cream at lunchtime provided that you make up for it by going for a workout in the evening.

According to a study done at the University of Minnesota those people who go on what are called “restrictive” diets which limit certain foodstuffs completely from their eating patterns are more likely to fail and go on a binge eating sessions. Those people however who go on healthy diets meaning that they increase the level of fruit and vegetables and they get regular exercise are much less likely to feel the desire to binge eat.
