Ukmedix loves fad diets not becuase we think they are any good but just because we can all have a laugh in the newsroom. In the latest offering from the world of celebrity (most fad diets come from there) Mariah Carey is promoting the benefits of the Purple Diet. In what has to be the funniest diet seen this year, all you have to do is eat purple food!
Ukmedix has already reported on Mariah Careys Morsel Diet (yep you got it, you just eat morsels of food), and in her latest foray into the world of nutrition she swears by the Purple Diet. The world famous singer says the Purple diet is not really a weight loss diet (though it has weight loss benefits in it), but it is more of an anti-ageing diet. She believes that by eating purple food she will arrest the onset of age and prevent any time telling wrinkles from forming. Mariah is now eating at least three purple meals weekly and her nutritionist says that eating purple foodstuffs is the most effective natural way of staying young and preventing the need for a facelift.
Purple foods could be for example grapes or plums and they can in fact stop the breakdown of the all important collagen as well keep the muscles from wasting away, however eating alot of grapes and plums are not going to have any noticeable effect on Mariah in the near future or in fact at all. Ukmedix advises that she eats a healthy balanced diet with fruit and veg and that she exercises on a regular basis. Ukmedix warns all its patients about fad diets because they often drive and distract the patients away from the all important diet principles of portion control, sensible food intake and exercise and replaces them with gimmicks.
Mariah Carey is becoming famous for her fad diets and they always seem to be changing too, which questions whether the first ones worked for her at all and if they did why did she need to come up with another one.
