We love the Mediterranean Diet at Ukmedix not just because it is beneficial for you and it can give you a healthy heart but also because it has variety, it has been tested for hundreds of years and it is delicious.

Extensive and numerous diet researchers can confirm that the Mediterranean Diet can beat heart disease, diabetes and even stop the formation of cancer. However many people just don't believe that the Mediterranean Diet is so good for you because they associate it with pasta, pizza, olive oil and cheese that are high in carbs and fat but they forget that these two things are just a tiny section of what is a very extensive selection of different foods.

Research has shown that people who change from a very low fat diet to a diet that has more fat but the same number of calories do not put on weight at all. In fact in one study it was seen that nearly 3 times as many people stayed with a Mediterranean diet when compared to the people who were on a low fat diet and it was noted that they were more likely to maintain the weight loss when the study period ended.

The important thing to remember as with any diet is that you must control the actual amount that you eat. If you go and eat a small pizza every now and again you can still maintain weight loss but make sure you dont do it too often and also don't forget the vast variety of other foods that you can also eat with the Mediterranean diet. Make a concious effort to always eat fruit and vegetables each day and at every mealtime so that your diet is balanced and healthy.

If you feel like a snack between meals make sure you stick to an apple or orange or something similar. Keep the variety going so that you don't get bored of eating one thing all the time and you could find your self actually enjoying your diet and not thinking of it as a chore.
