At Ukmedix News we are a little bit suspicious of most diet books especially the best selling ones. They tend to promote fad diets, which we also are a little hesitant to give time of day to. At the beginning of any year the sales of diet books start to top the best sellers list all over the UK and probably in the world too. And guess what? The best selling diet book are the ones that say that you can lose a lot of weight with very little effort on your part.
This goes to say that money is probably the biggest motivator for the writers of these books, and believe it or not they are probably going to tell you exactly what you want to hear and nothing about what you don’t want to and in fact need to hear. The books that have testimonials from happy users and ‘before and after’ photos are really an exercise in exploitative marketing rather than a serious weight loss books. Obviously not all the books are bad but don’t get it into your head that by buying a book with bright colours that makes you feel good about yourself for a few minutes is going to make you lose weight without a serious shift in the way that you live and eat.
We like the ‘Keep It Simple’ approach to dieting and weight loss at Ukmedix and you might ask why? It is simple really…. from the research that we have done on dieting we know that simple diets that are sensible, not too drastic, that let you eat wholesome balanced diets are quite simply statistically more likely to make you lose weight and that those diets that involve complicated analysis of everything you eat are the most likely to make you fail. And we don’t want you to fail in your diets and so by telling you about the best diets you are likely to have a better chance of succeeding
We know that calorie reduction diets are very effective and statistically more successful than most diets as are diets that involve regular checks with your peers like Weight Watchers. Even the simple act of sharing regular diet advice with friends and getting dieting buddies can give you that motivational edge to lose weight.
Whatever you decide to do keep it real, get some exercise and don’t eat too much! Good Luck!
