At Ukmedix News we try to keep an objective view about any weight loss diets and other methods to lose weight. We tend to be extremely cynical about fad diets and those diets that encourage rapid weight loss at the expense of healthy eating. We tend to focus on weight loss principles rather than weight loss diets and in fact we don’t even like the word diet because it implies a temporary eating pattern change that will eventually end and bad eating habits will then continue again.

We are also very cynical about diet books because we feel that they are mainly motivated by commercial interests and they prey on the insecurities of overweight people. So many diet books have bright colours and outlandish weight loss statements like “lose five kilos in a week without eating less” which even if it was true would be extremely unhealthy.
One particular book that we liked however was called The Diet Bible which portrays itself despite its name as a nutrition book as opposed to a weight loss book. It is extremely important that you concentrate on eating healthy if you want to lose weight and this is what this particular book concentrates on. It says that you need to eat and lots of vegetables, focus on natural types of food as opposed to processed types and to regulate your portion sizes. What could be easier than this and from our research nothing is more effective.
The book also has sensible tips like warning you not to try too hard with your diet and be fanatical as this will increase the chances of you failing and also make you despondent and unmotivated should you eat something unhealthy every now and again. The diet also recommends that you consume a good deal of fibre because it fills you up so well and it is low in fat. It warns against overly complicated diets that involve you having to weigh your food and count your calories religiously everyday.
We have always said at Ukmedix News that simple diets are the most effective and hundreds of research projects carried out in different parts of the world confirm this.
