Healthy eating involves regular eating

Don’t miss out on breakfast! Numerous studies have shown that people who eat a good breakfast are more likely to be healthy and thin than people who skip the meal altogether. What happens to people who miss breakfast is that they tend to snack unhealthily throughout the morning and end up eating more calories before lunch. Some of those people who don’t have breakfast argue that they don’t eat anything till lunch but then they usually over eat at lunchtime.

Breakfast, Breakfast, Breakfast....

It’s a bit like the Arabs who follow Ramadan who are known to consume more calories over this religious fasting period because they gorge themselves on food the moment the sun comes down. A recent study reported on by Ukmedix News shows that the number of Muslims suffering from diabetes and weight problems actually increases over the Ramadan period despite nothing being consumed during the daylight hours.

Healthy eating involves regular eating and that is why missing breakfast is not good for you. It is also noted that people who don’t eat breakfast tend to eat far fattier and higher calorie foodstuffs at lunch than people who have had a substantial healthy breakfast. If your body is very hungry it will crave fatty foods far more than if you are only slightly hungry. You should try not to allow yourself to get to hungry because that is when you will make poor food choices and you are likely to overeat.

Another thing that you should be aware of is that by missing meals you slow down your metabolic rate and therefore your digestion tends to take longer and thus it absorbs more fat into your body. People who miss out breakfast also tend to be more stressed and hassled in the morning than people who have had a good breakfast. A good breakfast also means that your brain works faster and this is likely to reduce the stress levels in whatever work you do.

Stress is also not conducive for making good food choices and therefore adds to the chances of you putting on weight. Many food nutritionists say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day so eat breakfast if you are serious about losing weight and being healthy.
