advertised as being herbal

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Health has issued an immediate ban on the sale of a weight loss medication called Body Beautiful 1 that was not only being sold in pharmacies but even in hospitals!  The Ministry said that following independent research it was seen to be a cause of serious potential damage to the heart especially to those men and women who already had cardiac issues.

This Body Beautiful 1 medication was advertised as being herbal when in fact it contained two powerful prescription compounds one of which has been banned because of its dangerous side effects. At Ukmedix News we have written about the dangers of Phenolphthalein before and how it has been shown to be carcinogenic but criminal manufacturers of illegal weight loss medication continue to add it to their so called herbal offerings.

The other compound found in Body Beautiful 1 was sibutramine the active ingredient of the prescription weight loss drug Reductil. The diet medication Reductil which is a controversial drug at the moment has actually been withdrawn from sale in the United Kingdom following concerns that people with existing heart problems could make them worse by using it. The latest updates on Reductil in the United Kingdom can be found at the Ukmedix web site.

The real danger however of Body Beautiful 1 is that there is no mention whatsoever of chemical compounds and you are led to believe that you are taking nothing more serious than a few naturally grown herbs.  The UAE Executive Director of Medical Practice and Licencing, Dr Amin Husain also noted that the Health Ministry in Hong Kong had also put out public warnings regarding this illegal medication.

The advice from the Ukmedix News team is to stay away from any weight loss medication, diet supplement or slimming pill which has not been given to you or prescribed by a doctor.

Do the peole who write these articles have a list of names of medicines that are fake? it would be very helpful to have a list of 'Do Not Take'. Do the people selling these things have a concious? or are they completely ignorant of doing the right thing?
