a definite correlation between high BMI and brain injury

Everybody knows that drinking is bad for you and that excessive alcohol consumption can even lead to a brain injury. New research however shows that the likelihood of this brain injury is considerably higher in men and women who are overweight. Professor Stefan Gazdzinski from the Northern California Institute for Research and Education said that since the number of obese individuals in America was on the increase it was important that this issue was looked at and dealt with.

being overweight increases chances of brain injury

Professor Dieter J. Meyerhoff from the University of California in San Francisco noted that in many cases it was presumed that high alcohol consumption was the sole cause of brain injury but this should only be considered to be "partly correct". He also pointed to previous clinical studies which showed that alcoholics who smoked also had a greater risk of brain injury than those alcoholics who did not smoke. The new study saw a definite correlation between high BMI and brain injury which doctors should be aware of.

From our own research at Ukmedix News we have seen have practically every single illness and disease known to man is acerbated by being overweight or obese. Men and women who have weight problems tend to have a whole lot of other health problems as well as the weight itself. Higher rates of heart disease, diabetes, cancer and arthritis just to name a few are directly linked to obesity.

Many overweight people claim that they are happy with the way they are and that they are quite comfortable being overweight but they find it very difficult to face up to the fact that they are considerably increasing their chances of suffering from a whole list of health problems many of which can only be cured by losing weight.
