The latest warning regarding the use of the dangerous slimming medication concerns a product called ARMA-Sin Gang San which appears to have been manufactured in Indonesia. Not only does ARMA-Sin Gang San contain unstated amounts of the active ingredient of Reductil namely sibutramine but it is also mixed in with an extremely dangerous chemical called fenfluramine which has been known to cause heart disease and even death in some people.

The dangers of this medication were uncovered when an Indonesian woman who had been attempting to lose weight by using this product was rushed to hospital hallucinating and in complete confusion. She said that she had got her hands on the slimming product from a friend and it is lucky that the hospital authorities were able to confirm the reason for her illness quickly. Police in a number of Asian countries have been informed and reports show that three people have been arrested for questioning. If you know of this medication you should inform the police so that they can seize it to prevent more people from becoming ill.

Even if you find a weight loss product that seems to be natural and herbal you should be extremely wary of it unless it has come from a licenced health shop or has been given to you by doctor. The manufacturers of these illegal slimming products have no scruples about not mentioning what is inside them on the labeling and packaging.  Often the boxes will be green with pictures of flowers or trees all over them all designed to disguise the fact that they contain powerful chemicals inside.

Fenfluramine has been linked to many instances of permanent heart valve disease and is banned for the treatment of obesity in most countries around the world. Don’t play games with your health and you should only use proper branded slimming medication after having obtained a prescription from a doctor.
