Ape The Apes For Good Health

A production company in the United Kingdom has been filming a group of men and women who agreed to completely give up their modern diet full of processed food stuffs and follow a completely natural and ancient diet which would have been similar to the diet which our ancestors thousands of years ago ate.

The nine volunteers who were aged between 36 and 49 said that they would follow the diet of prehistoric apes to see if there were any health improvements. This prehistoric diet which is called the Evo Diet meant that volunteers had to eat a lot of raw plant based foods. For the first week the volunteers were given lots of honey, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables and hazelnuts. They were supplied with a huge array of different fruits and vegetables such as mangoes, plums, broccoli and carrots. In their second week the volunteers were given a diet to copy that of hunter gatherer humans who would have eaten oily fish like tuna and salmon.
The study which was only continued for twelve days produced startling results with one of the volunteers losing twelve and a half pounds in weight as well as having much better blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Mr. Thornton who is 36 years old said that he was tempted to abandon the study when he realised that he would have to eat so much fruit and veg. He also claims that aches and pains that often appeared in his joints when he played football have disappeared.
All the participants reported significant drops in bad cholesterol levels which are normally only attained by the use of statin cholesterol lowering drugs. The average weight loss was also almost 10lb. each.
While this research cannot claim to be a clinically controlled research project and is merely an amateur attempt at showing the benefits of eating natural food it does highlight how it easy to use to lose weight and get healthy when you cut out fatty processed food from your diet and you load up with fruit and vegetables.
