The Victoria's Secret Angel Adriana Lima has been forced to defend reports that before she took part in the famous annual fashion show she went on an extreme and potentially very unhealthy diet in order to look her best on the catwalk.

adriana lima denies diet rumours

In a recent interview Adriana Lima said that it was just a misunderstanding that she had gone on a nine-day liquid diet consisting of egg powder and specially made protein shakes. It was also reported that she didn't drink any water for twelve hours before the show to lose the extra bit of weight, something that Adriana Lima also denied!

Adriana said that she wanted to set the record straight and not be a bad example to body conscious teenagers all over the world. She said that of course she had to be very food conscious because she was after all posing in tiny bras and knickers but she did not want to condone starvation diets in any way! She specifically said that starving yourself and only drinking liquids was something you definitely should not do.

In fact Adriana Lima credits her stunning figure to regular workouts, [sometimes twice a day] and a careful mix of low fat carbohydrates and proteins. Super models like Adriana Lima have to be a little bit fanatical about their diets because they can't afford to let themselves go even for a couple of weeks. It is one thing if you put on a couple of pounds and you have a desk job, but a whole different thing if you are the front and the image of a multimillion pound lingerie business!

In the end starvation diets are always a waste of time because they fail to see the big picture, they drastically slowdown your metabolism, they make your hair and skin look terrible and ultimately they are just extremely bad for your health.

She looks good and I am sure she is not so stupid as to eat unhealthily especially when teens look up to people like her.
