There are as yet unconfirmed reports that the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer has come up with a novel new way to promote its erectile dysfunction medication Viagra. A number of news agencies claim that the company is using a video game called “Viva Cruiser”, which can be played on line and involves the players riding a motorcycle avoiding hazards and picking up special gifts required for a date. Obviously one of the special gifts is a box of blue Viagra tablets. In the background you can hear the ‘Viva Viagra’ song which is a parody of the Viva Las Vegas song of Elvis Presley.

The report also claimed that the link to the Viva Cruiser video game was on the Forbes website however it seems to have been removed now following the controversy that it generated. Pfizer have had to tread a fine line between advertising the drug Viagra as a serious medication to treat a serious medical condition namely erectile dysfunction and also promoting the drug as a sexual enhancer to help to slightly older men, who while not actually suffering from erectile dysfunction have noticed a drop in the amount of erections that they get and the amount of sex that they are able to have.
Many people say that Pfizer have been irresponsible in promoting Viagra as a party drug which can be taken to maintain good erectile function at all times. The famous“Wild Thing” advertisement generated a lot of disapproval especially from foundations to campaign for safe sex to prevent the spread of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.
For example the AIDS Health Foundation claim that Viagra allows men who are in an intoxicated state to perform sexually and this often leads to dangerous unprotected sex. Alcohol and drug abusers claim that they are only able to perform sexually when they are high if they use Viagra. Pfizer as yet has not commented about the use of these on line video games which may well have not been initiated by them but by viral spammers who seek to drive traffic to their web sites.
Ukmedix News will be looking for more information on this breaking news story.
